During the afternoon of Tuesday, 19th, about 20 participants, including children and youth, volunteers from the center and more, participated in a zumba workshop at the Delta Cultura Education Center.
But what is Zumba? Zumba is a fitness program inspired by several songs of the world that is being implemented in several countries of the world.
The program was brought to the attention of the children and youth of the center by the instructor Aoife Sadlier, who is developing a research project on “the role of sport, cultural and educational programs in promoting sustainable development.”
The project, which is under the responsibility of Loughborough University, is being developed in three countries, Nepal, Timor-Leste and Cape Verde, with Delta Cultura being the partner of the project here.
The program combines several movements of Latin dances like, samba, salsa, reggaeton among other styles with several exercises for cardiovascular training for example.
