Delta Cultura Cabo Verde (DCCV), represented by its Programs Coordinator, Gilson da Costa, is attending a workshop on Social Enterprise Development, which involves approximately 30 sport for development organizations from several African countries.
This event has been taking place in Kick4Life FFH site, from November 21st to 25th, 2016, and it is being hosted by Kick4Life, a world-leading football for development and non-governmental organization, based in Maseru, which uses football as a tool to develop key life skills among vulnerable youth in Lesotho.
The organization disposes of a great, and very recent, social enterprise that serves the demands of their own social programs. The enterprise is composed by a hotel and conference Centre (K4L Hotel & Conference Centre) and a restaurant (No.7 Restaurant), providing great sustainability to the organization in terms of funds for the programs they run.
The workshop has been conducted by two facilitators from Social Enterprise Academy. Topics such as: the concept of social enterprise, revenue models, balance of social and economic mission, value prepositions, flow canvas, were covered throughout analysis of theories, case studies, group work, group coaching, etc.
Very important topics that were developed in a simple and concise form of understanding as it reveals a very important concept that must be embraced by all the donor-dependent organizations. The social enterprise developed by Kick4Life was used as a successful case study model to inspire the other organization to start operate their social enterprise program to sustain the social programs.
Bellow there are some pictures of the workshop sessions.
