Once a year streetfootballworld and FIFA Football for Hope invites all organisations participating in the ’20 Centres for 2010′ program to a four day meeting. As Delta Cultura was selected as a Centre Host in August we were invited to this years meeting as well. The meeting took place in late October in Cape Town in South Africa. Delta Cultura was presented by project manager Florian Wegenstein.
The focus of this meeting was set to share knowledge and experiences. All participants presented their projects and there was enough time for networking. Furthermore, there were workshops on important topics such as child protection, M&E (monitoring and evaluation) and risk management. For further exchange of experience, there was a visit to the Centre in Khayelitsha. The local center is managed by the organisation Grassrootsoccer.
Florian learned a lot at this meeting and brought new knowledge, new ideas, new contacts and lot of experiences back home, which he shared with the employees of the Education Center.
All this is proof that the cooperation with streetfootballworld and FIFA goes far beyond partial funding of the programs. With a view to longterm sustainability of these programs, knowledge and experience is exchanged, strategic plans are developed jointly, tools needed for successful fundraising ar shared and much more.
As an additional surprise, Delta Cultura was given 3 laptops for our computer room. We say thank you for this helpfull support.
All this is more than enough reason for us to look forward to the next 4 years of intensive cooperation with streetfootballworld and FIFA.
